• our u3a is an independent registered charity you will also become a Trustee
  • consider coming along to observe a couple of committee meetings before deciding if this is for you
  • once you’ve decided to go ahead you will be elected to the committee at the AGM or you can be co-opted onto the committee until the next AGM
  • as a committee member you should:
    • be familiar with our Constitution and Policies which can be found here
    • read the Charity Commission’s guidance on being a trustee which can be found here
    • attend committee meetings and observe the confidential nature of discussions
    • use the Head Office ‘u3a member access hub’ for induction and training information (induction document and trustee responsibilities document) which can be found here
    • ask other committee members for any support and information you may need

    • remember we are all volunteers and this should be fun and interesting – not a full time job!
