Speaker Meetings

We meet at 10.30am on the first Wednesday of every month (except for September, December and January). Outside speakers are invited to talk on a wide variety of topics ranging from local history and international adventure, to interesting hobbies and expertise. Talks will normally be held in Withnell Fold Sports and Social Club unless otherwise stated. Entry is £2 and includes refreshments. All West Pennine Villages u3a members are welcome.

Some events may take place in venues with limited parking. If you are a Blue Badge holder and plan to attend an event or take part in an activity, please contact us and we will endeavour to reserve a car parking space for you.

1st April 2026

Our next speaker will be Rhys Mahon. She will delivering a talk around the services that the charity Deafway provides. They are based in Preston and offer support, education and residential services for deaf individuals primarily in the North West. However they have also raised funds for deaf awareness in other parts of the UK and other parts of the world. Rhys promises to be an engaging speaker.

The event starts at 10-30am on Wednesday1st March at Withnell Fold Sports & Social Club. Come early to have a drink and to get a good seat.

Entry is £2 which can be paid in cash or by card.
