Our next speaker will be Roger Browne. He will provide a talk on the Great American Songbook. There will definitely be some musical entertainment as well as some humour. He is a writer, director and pianist. Roger is President of the Stockport Operatic Society, President of Manchester Athenaeum Dramatic Society and pianist with and leader of the internationally renowned Manchester Jazz. As such he has appeared in jazz clubs and jazz festivals in the UK, including many European countries as well as in the USA and Canada. He has provided piano accompaniments for many national and international legends such as Stephane Grappelli, Marion Montgomery, Scott Hamilton, Humphrey Littleton to name but a few. Roger has come with great reviews from other u3a and probus groups so he promises to be a highly entertaining Speaker. The event starts at 10-30am on Wednesday 7th May at Withnell Fold Sports & Social Club. Come early to have a drink and to get a good seat. Entry is £2 which can be paid in cash or by card. Hope to see you then! |
