The Gardening Group meets about once a month to share the trials and tribulations, successes and setbacks of gardening in this beautiful but rather damp part of Lancashire.

Whether you have a large garden, a yard or window box we can all learn from one another, perhaps swap seeds, cuttings and plants and discuss all things garden related.

The focus will be on visiting gardens (from RHS scale to one another’s), mooching around garden centres and very importantly having a cuppa in convivial company.

Our programme for the next few months includes visits to Castlefield Viaduct (Manchester’s very own “High Line” urban garden), Barton Grange Garden Centre for inspiration for Christmas and seeking out snowdrops, usually the first flowers to emerge from the winter gloom.
