Film Club

Our film club is held monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month at Withnell Fold Sports and Social Club. Films will begin at 2.30 and finish around 4.00/4.30pm depending on length. With this end time we should miss the village school run!! The cost is £1 – 2 per person depending on attendances. PLEASE NOTE Film Club runs from September to March. There are no meetings in the Spring and Summer months.

The idea behind the group is to show some of the many excellent lesser known, often British, films which only make it to the big screen for a few days, possibly not even shown at a local cinema. Often quirky, funny, and true to life, the ones when one thinks “oh, that looks good” and then it’s gone.

Group members are encouraged to step forward with suggestions for the group to watch. Films you’ve loved and would like to share with everyone else. As group convenor I don’t want to inflict my personal choices on the group but do have a few ideas as a backup.
