The group regularly plays Bridge and Canasta and would like to reintroduce Scrabble as and when some Scrabblers join us! When the group was first set up we had a number of Scrabble players but as interest grew in Canasta in particular the number of regular Scrabblers declined. Many of the group members joined specifically to learn Canasta so whether you’re an experienced player or a complete novice please feel free to join us, you’ll be in great company.
While Canasta Bridge are played most frequently we do enjoy Whist, Rummy, and Cribbage and occasionally Continental Rummy. Anyone who has a new game they would like to bring along for us to try is most welcome
We have both experienced and new players in the group, it’s proving great fun learning together with an inexperienced player playing alongside a more experienced member to help their understanding of the game. If you’d like to learn a new card skill or brush up your knowledge please feel free to join us. All are welcome.
To date the group has not played Backgammon but players would be welcome as we look to extend the range of games on offer……so if you’re a Backgammon player please get in touch
The group meets 13.30 – 15.30 on the first and third Thursday of the month at Withnell Fold Sports and Social Club. For the moment the cost is £2.50 (to cover room hire) including coffee and biccies – donations are appreciated for refreshments.
